Stephanie Grubbs

I have been a fiber artist for about 50 years. During that time, I have worked as a weaver, basket maker, paper and felt maker, and maker of small, knotted vessels.

I am a native Oklahoman who grew up in southeastern Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma and, except for years teaching in Colorado and Kansas, have lived in the state.

I met my husband in Colorado and we had two daughters. I worked full time as a fiber artist until my husbands death in 1992, when I increased my part-time job as a public librarian to full-time. I continued my work as a librarian and fiber artist for 20 years until my retirement, when I could continue my life as a fiber artist.

After 25 years in Edmond, I moved to Sapulpa to be near my children, grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
